Using this home-made conductor, you can make round wooden pieces from square wooden blocks that are useful for making chair legs, cuttings, etc. The advantage of this fixture is that there is no need to use a lathe.
The main stages of work
Two identical workpieces need to be sawed off from a wooden bar, which are connected to each other using self-tapping screws (you must first drill two holes along the edges). Then, just below the center line, make a large hole.
Using a manual router, we expand the upper part of the hole. Next, we cut off the unnecessary part from the upper bar and make a narrow slot in the side wall. In the lower bar it is necessary to make a small side cut on a circular saw at an angle of about 45 degrees.
Then both bars are connected together for self-tapping screws, and the home-made conductor is ready for work. Now you only need to make an adapter for the drill and prepare a workpiece that will be rounded with the help of this device.
Adapter manufacturing
To do this, cut off a piece of the profile and press in a nut of suitable size inside and scald it. We screw a hairpin into it and tighten it with a lock nut. Then we insert this adapter into the electric drill cartridge. Next, cut the bars from the board, make them hexagonal (on a circular).
At the end of the bar, four cuts must be made under the profile pipe. We fix the beam and pass it through a previously made jig. This is how simple it is to make round wooden blanks.
