It is no secret that the health of a child in the cold season depends on how properly the throat is closed.
As a rule, in a kindergarten there is especially nobody to watch how a child is dressed during a walk and he often gets cold.
Since I sewed this scarf to my four year old daughter. Now my heart is calm, as it does not slide off the neck, does not untie, and the child's throat is always warm.
So, we take an ordinary scarf (in my case, the width of the scarf is 20 cm), and ruthlessly cut off a length of about 64 cm (in the photo below, my cut scarf is folded in half).
We also need three cuts of simple linen elastic. The length of each gum is 32 cm. This length of the gum will allow the neck to be closed, and at the same time it will not squeeze the baby's throat.
Stitch the cut edge on a sewing machine with a zigzag stitch, this will allow the scarf not to open.
Now we take one piece of elastic, put it in the middle of the scarf and sew it in a zigzag on a typewriter. At the time when you will sew the elastic to the scarf, it must be pulled, as it is two times shorter. In this way, we get the assembly in the middle.
Then we fold the scarf in half and make a simple straight side seam.
In order for us to get a backstage under the elastic band, we tuck the top and bottom of the scarf and stitch it with a straight line on the machine as shown in the photo below.
We insert the remaining two gum into the wings using a simple pin.
If you wish, you can make a double scarf and sew in the middle not just one elastic band, but several. Thus, the scarf will more densely and high cover the children's neck.
That's all! A comfortable and warm scarf is ready.
