If you need to mow the grass in the summer cottage or to remove weeds near the house, you don’t have to buy an expensive trimmer for this - you can make a similar device by the principle of operation yourself, using affordable budget materials that are always at hand.
Materials and stages of work
As they say, it all starts small, so before you start assembling a homemade trimmer, you need to make some workpieces. First you need to cut off two plates of 9-10 cm long from a steel strip, in which then you need to drill one hole each.
On the other hand, steel plates need to be made small indentations with a grinder or on a grinding machine. Then, the obtained workpieces must be bolted to the grinder body, and a long section of a round steel bar should be welded to them.
Further, from pieces of pipes and other steel elements that will be at hand, it will be necessary to weld the metal frame of a homemade trimmer (it will move on small wheels). After welding, the seams must be cleaned, and the entire metal structure obtained must be painted.
Assembly assembly
At the final stage of the work, it is necessary to “push” the wheels on the trimmer and install the grinder, securely fixing it with bolts. After that, it remains only to thread a piece of steel cable into the holes of the quick-release nut and screw it onto the shaft of the angle grinder.
