If you have a large number of “bits” of soap accumulated in your home, in the workshop or in the garage, do not throw it away - you can whip up a new soap from them, which can be reused for washing your hands. It is very simple to make soap, and first you need to melt the remnants.
The classic recipe for homemade soap
Pour water into a deep pan and set it on the stove. We insert a smaller pan into it, pour out the remnants there, add a little water and cover with a lid - to create the effect of a “water bath”. It is advisable to pre-grind the pieces of soap or grate them to speed up the cooking process.
Mass melting and molding
When the remnants are completely melted, they must be thoroughly mixed (you can use a mixer or drill with a whisk for this). Then we remove the pan from the fire and, without waiting for the mass to cool, transfer it to the previously prepared “formwork” from plywood or rectangular boards. Leave for a while to harden.
Cutting soap into bars
Then we cut the resulting “soap blank” with the help of a kapron thread into the bars of the right size - as a result, we get a free soap, which is useful in the workshop and garage. If you wish, you can add a little river sand in the process of soap cooking - as a result, you get an abrasive soap, which is good to wash your hands after oil or grease.
