Profile pipes of square section are used on the farm no less than steel round pipes. In the process of manufacturing various home-made devices or metal structures, they often have to be cut, welded and bent. There is no way to do without special equipment.
To quickly bend a profile pipe at a certain angle at home, you can use a pipe bender - a simple home-made device for manual bending of a profile. In this review, we will consider the manufacturing option of a pipe bender for a profile pipe 10x10 mm.
The main stages of work
First of all, it is necessary to make a bed for a manual pipe bender from sheet metal with a thickness of 6 mm. A steel roller will be attached to it (in this case, the roller is made on a lathe, but can also be done manually, without using a turning).
The handle for the pipe bender is made of two pieces of steel strip with a width of 20 millimeters. Also, two small “fingers” that will fasten the bearing with the roller will need to be cut from the round bar.
A hole is drilled in the bed, into which a “finger” is inserted, and then scalded using electric arc welding. From above, one piece of the strip is put on, then the roller and the second segment of the strip. They are connected to each other using a bearing and another "finger".
