In this review, the author shows how you can make your own hands a simple device for marking different round billets (pipes, cylinders, etc.).
The main advantage of this device is the ease of manufacture and ease of use. In addition, home-made can also be used for marking profile pipes.
To make this device, you will need a square and rectangular profile, a spring, bolts with nuts, a leather belt about 2 cm wide or a strap of the required length (the longer the strap itself, the larger the diameter of the workpiece can be wrapped around).
By the way, instead of a strap, it is quite possible to use a steel tape from an old roulette. Although, of course, using the strap is much more convenient.
The main stages of work
First, cut a piece of the profile pipe with a cross section of 40 * 20 mm, fix it in a vice and use the grinder (angle grinder) to cut the workpiece of the desired shape. First you need to do the markup.
Then you need to cut a piece of square profile 10 * 10 mm. In it, the author drills holes. Both blanks will need to be processed on a grinder or with a metal file.
After that, it remains only to drill a couple more holes, and to weld a piece of a round bar so that a spring can be installed. Then, using the bolts, one edge of the strap is fixed.
