If you have to drill a lot, and then also cut the threads in the drilled holes, then you can use a homemade device. In this review we will tell and show how to make a universal stand for drilling and threading.
The author uses a rectangular piece of metal with a thickness of about 10-12 mm as the base of a makeshift rack. If necessary, we clean the surface with a grinder with a cord brush or a petal circle.
Next, it will be necessary to cut a piece of the T-beam. It must be welded to the base vertically. If there is no such T-profile, you can use two corners (you need to weld them together).
The main stages of work
The next step will require a rectangular steel bar. It is necessary to drill holes in it and then cut the thread with a tap. Next, in the bar you need to drill another hole of large diameter.
In the round metal bar on the sides, it will be necessary to drill two holes to fix the drill chuck.
Also, on a lathe, the author turns the shank so that it is possible to insert a metal bar into the chuck of a screwdriver or electric drill.
After that, we proceed to the assembly of a makeshift rack. To the T-profile welded to the base, you need to screw a steel bar. We insert a round metal bar into it, into which a drill chuck is screwed.
