In this review, the author shows how to make a very simple but convenient copy template. It is useful in the manufacture of shelves.

Imagine the situation: you need to make a shelf that will be installed inside a niche. If the walls are even and at an angle of 90 degrees, then cutting off a piece of chipboard or plywood in size will not be a problem.

And if the corners of the walls are not equal to 90 degrees: for example, does the inner contour of the niche have a trapezoidal shape?

In this case, you will have to perform additional measurements, which take a lot of time. And if you need to make a lot of shelves?

In general, in order not to complicate his life, the author made a simple copy template. With it, you can measure both the width of the opening and the angles. Very handy thing.

The main stages of work

The master uses plywood to make a copy template. The first step is to cut two pieces - the side parts of the template. In the center we drill holes.

At the next stage, we press the carpenter nuts into the holes, then tighten the bolts and fix them with the wing nuts.

Next, cut off the two slats, round off the edges and drill holes in them. Then we fasten the side parts of the template.

The main part of the homemade product is ready - now it remains only to make a long groove in one bar, and in the other - drill two holes in the central part.
