In this review, the author shows the process of making a homemade musical instrument from PVC pipes and plywood.
Of course, this tool will not impress many adults, but children will definitely like this “toy”. Why not do it?
For the manufacture of the tool, you can use both PVC pipe cuts remaining after the repair (the main thing is that they are clean), as well as purchased sewer pipes.
First of all, we cut off the required number of blanks - they must have different lengths.
Then the author cuts the rings from a plastic pipe of a larger diameter and glues them to the workpieces, and at different distances from the edge.
Then all the blanks need to be painted. However, this is exclusively for aesthetics. And therefore, if beauty is not important to you, then you can skip this step.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the author cuts four pieces of plywood 300 * 600 mm in size. In two planks, it is necessary to drill holes with a diameter of 40 mm into which pipes will be inserted.
Then we assemble the frame - we connect all the blanks together for glue and self-tapping screws.
Next, insert the PVC pipe into the holes. First, the lower part of the coupling must be lubricated with silicone.
The result should be as shown in the photo below. Then the master fills the space inside the shelf with mounting foam.
