In order to sew children's clothes, you need to be able to take basic measurements from the figure, and also stock up with a couple of good patterns of shoulder and waist clothing, which can be used to simulate any model you like. As for skills in sewing and cutting, the basic course of technology lessons at school will be quite enough.
An example of a simple, but at the same time very cute product can serve as a summer sundress for a girl. This is a product of what is called one evening. Covered and sewn in no time.
The shelf and back of it are cut on the base patterns of the shelf and back, the skirt is simply made of rectangles over the entire available width of the fabric.
The allowances for the seams to the details should be given as follows: processing of the neck, armhole, middle cut of the back - 0.7 cm; side seam, shoulder seam, seam for sewing on skirts, seams for sewing parts of skirts - 1 cm; allowance for hemming the bottom of the skirt - 1-1.5 cm.
Summer sarafan for the girl will include the following details of the cut.
Main material (floral cotton):
- Shelf, 2 children .;
- Back, 2 children .;
- Tie on the shoulder, 4 children .;
- The front part of the skirt, 1 child .;
- The back of the skirt, 2 children.
Lining material (white cotton):
- Lining shelves, 2 children .;
- Backrest lining, 2 children
The manufacture of a sundress should begin with procurement operations.
First of all, you need to grind the details of the shelves and backs along the shoulder sections. This applies to both products from the main fabric, and from the lining.
The parts to be joined must be superimposed (face to face), aligned over the shoulder sections and stitched together.
The shoulder seam must be ironed on the back.
Then the upper parts of the sundress need to grind with the appropriate linings.
To do this, the prepared parts need to be folded face inward and stabbed in all sections with tailor pins.
After this, you need to lay a line along the armhole, neck and middle section of the back.
Grinding seam allowances in rounded areas need to be cut and the pins removed.
The turned parts of the sundress should be turned out on the front side and ironed from the inside.
Next, you need to grind the side seams of the sundress.
After they need to be ironed on the back.
Completely prepared parts of the sundress must be chopped, combining the centers of the shelves and backs.
Then you need to prepare the skirt of the dress. To do this, it is necessary to grind its lateral and middle seam, and in the latter it is necessary to leave an un sewn cut at the top about 10 cm long.
Seams need to be overcast on an overlock. Side seams should be ironed towards the back of the skirt, and the middle seam should be ironed.
After this, you need to hem the bottom of the sundress. The most practical treatment in this case will be a narrow (5-7 mm) hem with a closed cut (twice turned inward).
The hemmed hem is best ironed right from the wrong side.
The procurement of the main parts of the sundress on this will be finished, and therefore you can proceed with the installation.
The top of the sundress should be folded with the skirt face to face, combining the waist sections, as well as the side seams and the center of the shelves.
Since, according to the model, the skirt is much wider than the top of the sundress, it needs to be picked up in small folds. Each of them must be fixed with a pin or a manual basting stitch.
An allowance of the middle seam of the back of the skirt should bend around the back by 1 cm. Such processing of the assembly in the finished form will look very neat and aesthetically pleasing.
Then the skirt should be stitched to a sundress. The stitching seam must be overcast and ironed down to the side of the skirt.
It remains to prepare the ties for decorating the product. Two details of the cut out ties should be folded with each other face inward and turned around the perimeter, leaving a hole for turning out on the face in one place.
The corners in the ledges of the ties must be cut, and the allowances for the rounding cut.
Turned out ties need to be turned out and ironed.
The eversion hole must be carefully sewn with hidden hand stitches.
Ready ties must be tied on the shoulders of a sarafan.
In conclusion, it is necessary to process the sewn-in loops and sew buttons on the back of the product.
Easy summer dress for your beloved daughter is completely ready!
