For work, I needed:
- corrugated cardboard;
- double sided tape;
- non-woven wallpaper (1 meter wide);
- PVA glue.
First you need to make the bottom of the basket. To do this, cut out two identical rectangles of 20x30 cm in size from corrugated cardboard.
Now we cut the wallpaper into strips 15 cm wide.
These are the blank strips I got.
We fold the strips along the entire length three times and sew on a sewing machine on both sides.
The result is strips 5 cm wide. I had two types of wallpaper: 14 blue strips, 45 cm long - turned out to be the basis, and 7 pink strips, 1 m long - weaving.
Using double-sided tape, glue the strips to one of the bases.
Coat the top well with PVA glue and apply a second base.
Let it dry and glue a piece of wallpaper, hiding the corrugated cardboard.
Now we raise the main strips up and begin to weave the basket, wrapping the blue strips of pink in a checkerboard pattern. Each row must be weaved separately, fixing the edge with glue and a stapler.
In the last row you need to wrap the blue stripes inward, as in the photo.
And here is the basket we get.
The height of the basket is 40 cm. The basket is very roomy and strong. You can store anything in it, for example, linen, or, like me, rags of fabrics, threads for knitting and knitting needles. And it took two hours to make this miracle. Of course, you can add your own flavor, for example, make a cover and pens, sew an inner cover or decorate the outside with decoupage. This is already a matter of your imagination. And I wish you good luck and inspiration!
