A home-made quick-clamping clamp is an indispensable assistant in any home workshop, especially when it is necessary to perform a large amount of work on machining or gluing metal and wooden workpieces.

There are a lot of options for such clamps. In this article, we will look at how to make a simple quick-release fixture from an F-shaped clamp and a universal clamp with a do-it-yourself device. From the tool you will need welding and a grinder.

Making a quick-clamp clamp yourself

We take the usual F-shaped clamp, cut off the clamping “patch” (articulated stop) with the help of a grinder and unscrew the screw with the handle. Then you will need to clamp the clamp in a vice and cut off the upper part - the fixed head.

For this homemade product, you only need a movable head, to which instead of a screw and a handle you will need to weld a “patch” of steel round timber - it will serve as a stop, and a guide. Next, take a universal clamp with a latch and cut off his upper sponge.

Then we weld the manual clamp to the guide of the F-shaped clamp. The movable head allows you to adjust the width of the grip, and a handle with a latch quickly presses the workpiece to the working surface of the table or workbench. The result is a practical do-it-yourself quick-clamp clamp.
